About Coach Byrd
Coach Ronte Byrd has over eight years of experience with private training, high school coaching, volunteer coaching, and event coordinating/ tournament planning. He utilizes curriculum based training methods to help players maximize their potential. Coach Byrd has worked with elementary, intermediate and collegiate level athletes.
What services do we offer?
Our basketball lessons are offered in different formats including beginners classes, private one on one, group training, house visits, clinics, and birthday parties. CBT is based in New Haven County, CT. We travel all over Connecticut, including: Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Trumbull, Easton, Weston, Wilton, Westport, Norwalk, New Canaan, Darien, Shelton, Monroe, Milford, Naugatuck, Derby, Seymour, Prospect, New Haven, Hamden, Ansonia, Wolcott, Waterbury and more.
PRIVATE/GROUP TRAINING/House Visits
We provide year-round private and group lessons for children aged 5-17, along with exclusive training sessions in local valley gyms. Our tailored programs are designed to nurture young talent. Sessions take place at nearby parks or can be arranged as house visits for those with their own hoop. Trust CBT to cultivate enduring skills and professionalism in the game.
Camps & clinics
CBT offers several camps and clinics throughout the year including our Thanksgiving Giveback, Adaptive Clinic, and our Summer basketball camp held @Assumption School.. Volunteers from Amity Regional High School, Ansonia High School and college athlete alumni help make these great events a success.

CBT Basketball Tournaments
The CBT Valley Alumni Tournament is an annual event with every town in the Valley (DERBY, SHELTON, ANSONIA, WOODLAND, NAUGATUCK & SEYMOUR). Every alumni gets a chance to come back and win the championship for bragging rights. We also do 3 on 3 tournaments, 5 on 5 tournaments, adult mens leagues & more.
The Gun 10k
The Gun 10k by Shoot-A-Way is a basketball shooting machine to dramatically improve players shots. This basketball shooting machine will act as an automatic rebounder, instantly rebounding a made or missed shot and giving a direct return pass for another shot. Fires up to 1800 shots per hour and use with up to 12 players to get an intense workout in a short time.

adult men's league
The CBT League is an adult men's league located in Derby, CT, led by Commissioner Coach Byrd. The league offers intense competition and exciting games every week. We meticulously track player statistics, conduct post-game interviews, present annual awards, and host an All-Star Weekend featuring events such as the Dunk Contest, Skills Challenge, Three-Point Shootout, and the All-Star Game, among others.
